Zedekiah's Cave

Yesterday we went into Zedekiah's cave, it goes underneath the Old City and was quarries probably used around the time of King Solomon. It was a fun lil adventure.

There were lots of places to explore. There was also a special hall inside the cave for Freemason's to have their special services. I guess Solomon was the first leader of the Freemason's so they sometimes have rituals inside the cave. Pretty cool.

Then, we went to the Pools of Bethesda. This is a picture of it, they had to dig down to the level of Christ in order to find them. But, this is the place in John, where Jesus healed the man who could not walk. I am not sure if this is the actual place, but it is "traditionally" where it happened. It was so beautiful to walk around.

There were some fun ruins and gardens around. Lots of poppies are bloomin'.

There are stray cats EVERYWHERE around here. I have very little sympathy for them. Good thing there aren't any dogs. This guy looks especially happy.
